The Alberta Employment Pension Tribunal hears appeals made by pension plan administrators in respect of certain decisions made by the Superintendent of Pensions, as identified under Part 12 of the Employment Pension Plans Act (Reconsiderations and Appeals).
The Tribunal may inquire into, hear and determine all matters and questions of fact and law arising or requiring determination in order to confirm, reverse or vary a decision of the Superintendent under appeal or to send the matter back for reconsideration, with or without directions, to the Superintendent.
