The Minister of Municipal Affairs is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving as a Board Member of the Alberta Elevating Devices and Amusement Rides Safety Association (AEDARSA).

About the Agency

AEDARSA is a not-for-profit society responsible for the promotion and encouragement of the safe design, construction and operation, use and maintenance of elevating devices, passenger ropeways and amusement rides.

Role Description

The Board of Directors provides guidance and direction to AEDARSA on its activities and programs. The Board consists of 7 senior directors and one individual who is appointed by the Minister of Municipal Affairs.

Skills and Experience Required

 A candidate should have a strong interest in supporting and improving public safety. Ideally, will hold a senior position with leadership and strategic planning experience. Previous experience working with a Board of Directors is a definite asset.

Remuneration and Time Commitment

No remuneration is paid for this position but travel expenses to attend meetings are reimbursed.

AEDARSA Board members can expect to spend one or two days per month on AEDARSA business.

Meetings of the Board are held on a quarterly basis. This is a voluntary position but travel expenses to attend meetings are reimbursed. Meeting location is either Edmonton or Calgary.
