Waddell, Justin

Justin Waddell is an Associate Professor in the School of Visual Art at the Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts). He is a member on the AUArts Illingworth Kerr Gallery Advisory Committee. Mr. Waddell has been a board member of various artist run centres, including Truck Art Gallery, The New Gallery, and the Calgary Cinematheque. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Windsor, a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Ontario College of Art and Design, and a Fine Arts Cultural Studies degree from York University.

Anhorn, Sara

Ms. Sara Anhorn is currently a Chief Talent Officer at Critical Mass and has nearly 20 years of experience in digital marketing, project management, and people development. She was named Digiday’s 2020 HR Leader of the Year in the Worklife Awards. Her digital capabilities include large-scale e-Commerce projects, content management systems, integrated marketing campaigns, and prototype and usability testing.

Cran, Chris

Mr. Chris Cran is a Professor Emeritus and a Canadian visual artist. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently at the Glenbow Museum (2019), Mylona Gallery in Switzerland (2018), and at the National Gallery of Canada (2016). He is represented by Trépanier Baer Gallery in Calgary, Clint Roenisch Gallery in Toronto, and the Wilding Cran Gallery in Los Angeles. His work and/or collections are also found in the Nickle Arts Museum and the Art Gallery of Alberta.

Graham, Tom

Mr. Tom Graham is the Executive Vice President, Western Canada with Kingsdale Advisors in Calgary, Alberta. Prior to this, he was a Corporate Finance Director at Alberta Securities Commission and also previously worked as a Manager for TSX Group and Ernst & Young LLP. Mr. Graham volunteers with the Board of Governors of Calgary Academy and his community. He holds the Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and has also completed an ICD.D Directors Education Program

Calenso, Morgan

Ms. Morgan Calenso is the Alberta University of the Arts Students Association Vice President of External Relations. She is a 4th year ceramics student in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program. Ms. Calenso completed a Business Finance Course at NAIT and is also a graduate of the Victoria School of the Arts.

Taylor, Sheila

Ms. Sheila Taylor is the Chief Executive Officer of Parks Foundation Calgary. She previously was the General Manager with Quattro Energy Services and was the Board Chair of the Calgary Board of Education. She serves as a Director with Sport Calgary, Director with Conservative Midnapore Electoral District Association and Director with Sport for Calgary Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Distinction, from the University of Alberta.

Each member of the board also contributes to the board’s full range of skills and expertise including at least one of the following areas: financial, human resources, legal, risk management and/or strategic planning. Legate, Evan

Mr. Evan Legate is the Executive Director of Research Diversification Council. He currently serves as Board Chair of the Epilepsy Association of Calgary and Chair of Calgary Public Library’s Audit and Finance Committee. Mr. Legate is the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medal and was recognized as one of Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2022 in Calgary. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Calgary.

Paul, Cassandra

Ms. Cassandra Paul is the Exhibitions and Programs Coordinator with the Illingworth Kerr Gallery at Alberta University of the Arts. She is a Mentor in Residence with the Immigrant Council for Art Innovation, as well as an Operating Grant Assessor with the Calgary Arts Development. She previously served as a Director on the Skate Club Board of Directors, a member on The New Gallery Programming Committee, and a Programming Jury Member with the Calgary Allied Arts Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Alberta University of the Arts, and a Business Administration diploma in Marketing from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Covey, Quynn

Ms. Quynn Covey is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Glass, specializing in experimental casting techniques at Alberta University of the Arts. She is the Vice-President of Academic Affairs of the AUArts Students’ Association for the 2023/24 academic year.

Iliya-Ndule, Chi

Ms. Chi Iliya-Ndule is currently a Corporate Commercial and Energy Associate at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP and serves as the chair of the Governance and Human Resources Committee on The Board of Governors of Alberta University of the Arts. She is co-founder, president and chair of the executive committee for the Calgary Black Chambers Society. As well, she serves as a board member at Antyx Community Arts and as an executive committee member for the Environmental, Energy and Resources Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association. Prior to immigrating to Canada, she practiced as a lawyer in Nigeria. She holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University in Nigeria.

Price, Tammi

Ms. Tammi Price is the Chief Financial Officer with Greengate Power Corporation. Prior to that, she was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer with ELM Inc. She is serving as an Advisory Board Member and Chair of Collins Capital. Ms. Price is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Mary’s University.

Kelly-Frère, Mackenzie

Mr. Mackenzie Kelly-Frère is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Craft and Emerging Media at Alberta University of the Arts. He is the President and Historian of the Guild of Canadian Weavers and a member on the Nickle Galleries Collection Committee. His work has been exhibited across Canada, China, Japan, Korea, and the United States. He is a member of the Alberta Craft Council and the Textile Society of America. Mr. Kelly-Frère holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Textile from Alberta University of the Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Textile from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

Gupta, Ruby

Ms. Ruby Gupta is currently employed by Oak Bay Medical Centre and was previously a Fire Safety Advisor at Premier Health Enterprises. Ms. Gupta was also a Benefit Specialist with American Income Life, Payroll Coordinator with UMA Engineering, and a Customer Care Representative with the Bank of Montreal. Ms. Gupta holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, and a Medical Office Assistance certificate from MCG Career College. She has completed courses offered by Canadian Payroll Association and earned a Payroll Administrator certificate.

Stimson, Adrian

Mr. Stimson has been on The Board of Governors of Alberta University of the Arts since August 2021 and serves as member on the Finance and Audit Committee and the Honorary Degree Committee. He is a member of the Siksika (Blackfoot) Nations. Mr. Stimson is the recipient of the Governor General Award for Visual and Media Art, the REVEAL Indigenous Arts Award, the Blackfoot Visual Arts Award, Alberta Centennial Medal, and the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Award. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction from Alberta University of the Arts.

Chiu, Patrick

Mr. Patrick Chiu is currently the President of Trico Communities, the owner of the Egg and Spoon Restaurant, and the owner of Fuse Fitness Studio. Mr. Chiu is an active member in the community and volunteers in various organizations, including Chair of NU Community Board created by Trico Charitable Foundation, an Inaugural Chair of Dean’s Strategic Advisory Committee with Bow Valley College, Chair with Stile Interiors Inc, Chapter Member of Young President’s Organization (YPO), and as a Cabinet Member of the Campaign “Open Doors Open Minds”. Mr. Chiu holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Haskayane School of Business at the University of Calgary, and Bachelor of Commerce Co-op degree Major in Marketing Management from Rowe School of Business Dalhousie University in Halifax.
