Mr. Darren Andruko was the Chief Financial Officer Asia Pacific with Husky Energy, as well as the past Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer with Husky Energy. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from McGill University and a Bachelor of Business Administration and Commerce degree from the University of Alberta.
Banks, Dennis Lee
Mr. Dennis Banks has been working with Suncor Energy for almost a decade and is the Vice President of Suncor’s Edmonton Refinery. He has held several senior positions with Suncor, including Vice President Upgrading, General Manager of Upgrading Operations, and Director of Upstream Energy and Utility Operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Gary Kalynchuk is a professional engineer with more than 40 years of diversified experience and expertise in the areas of executive leadership, engineering/construction, and management consulting. He is a senior member of the Hatch Team for the Valley Line LRT West Leg. He is also Project Manager for the Line 5 Tunnel/Pipeline Project in the Straits of Makinaw with Enbridge Pipelines. He is the former Civil/Structural Department Head, for Cosyn Technology and was the Founder and President of GKO Engineering Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with Distinction from the University of Alberta.
Chinedu Ogbonna is a regulatory compliance leader who works for Champion Petfoods LP as the Manager of Regulatory Affairs executing regulatory strategies. Chinedu is a board member of the Pet Foods Association of Canada and the Chair, International Trade Sub-Committee, Pet Food Institute of USA. Chinedu is certified by the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Scientists. He has a Master's degree in Cellular Parasitology. He also has post-graduate certificates in Regulatory Affairs from Humber College and Infection Control from UBC.
Svetlana Pavlenko is the Executive Director of the JDIC Senior's Centre. She served as President Elect 2020 and Fundraising Chair of the Edmonton Riverview Rotary Club, and the Secretary of the Board of Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts. She holds a MA degree from the University of Guelph, an MBA in Public Administration from the Siberian Academy of Public Administration and Marketing, and a PhD in Social Sciences from the Novosibirsk State Technical University in Russia.
Christine Rapp is a retired lawyer and has been a senator at the University of Alberta since 2018. She currently is a member on the Association of School Business Officials of Alberta Executive Committee. She has served on many boards, including the Law Society of Alberta, Legal Education Society of Alberta, Canadian Bar Association, Students Finance Board, John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights, and the Association of School Business Officials. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta.
Mr. Bill Sears is retired from a career in agriculture as a farmer raising cattle, grain, and pedigree seeds. He has been a senator at the University of Alberta since 2018. He served as a three-term County Councillor with Beaver County, a School Trustee with the Battle River School Division, and one term as City Councillor with the City of Camrose. He holds a Farm Management diploma from Olds College.
Ms. Barbara Walker spent 25 years as a teacher with Edmonton Public Schools after teaching in Winnipeg. She has been a senator at the University of Alberta since 2018. She served as Chair and as a member with Compassion House Foundation Board and as a board member with ABC Head Start. She has volunteered with both the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers and the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree.
