Prokopy, Ross
Ross Prokopy is the Managing Director, Energy Investment Banking, at Raymond James Ltd. in Calgary. Prior to this, he was the Managing Director and Head, Debt Capital Markets, at GMP Securities in Toronto, Ontario. Previously, he also served as a Vice-President at RBC Capital Markets in Toronto and New York. Mr. Prokopy has a Master of Business Administration from Yale with a concentration in finance. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario, and was a Captain in the Canadian Forces for five years.
Groch, Emilian
Mr. Groch is formerly the CEO of the Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund. Prior to that, he was the chief pension regulator of Alberta and a founding director of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance. He is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Calgary Firefighters Supplementary Pension Plan, and a member of the Government Relations Committee of the Pension Investment Association of Canada. Mr. Groch holds a B.Sc. honours degree (applied mathematics in statistics) from the University of Alberta, and is a certified director of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Gilchrist, Todd
Todd Gilchrist (appointed as a University of Alberta Board of Governors nominee) is Vice-President, University Services and Finance with the University of Alberta. In addition, he currently serves as Board Trustee, Audit Committee Chair and Sponsor Board Chair with the Universities Academic Pension Plan; Board Director and Finance and Audit Committee Chair of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of Alberta; Board Director and Governance and Human Resources Committee Chair with Habitat for Humanity Edmonton; and, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors with the Capital Region of Alberta United Way.
Mr. Gilchrist is a graduate of the Rotman School of Management and the Institute of Corporate Directors (Directors Education Program). He holds a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources Management and a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching, both from Royal Roads University. He is designated as an ICD.D by the Institute of Corporate Directors, and accredited as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources and a Canadian Registered Safety Professional.
Lardner, David
David Lardner (appointed as an Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) nominee), is a union representative with AUPE since 2007. He has worked as counsel representing AUPE and its members in labour arbitrations and before the Labour Relations Board. Recently, he joined AUPE’s Essential Services department and is engaged in negotiating Essential Services Agreements on behalf of AUPE.
Mr. Lardner has been a member of the Alberta Bar for more than 30 years. His areas of practice, before joining AUPE, focused on litigation of all sorts. His Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law are both from the University of Alberta. He is also a member of the board of the Northern Light Theatre and the Friends of the Royal Alberta Museum Society.
Goodwin, Jan
Having worked as a registered laboratory technician in microbiology and then a paralegal and office manager in a criminal law firm, Jan returned to university as a mature student to complete a BA in English and a law degree. She undertook a clerkship at the Federal Court of Canada in Ottawa before being called to the bar in both Ontario and Alberta. Fifteen years ago she joined the staff at AUPE where she is now a member of the research department.
Jan brings to the position the Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) through Humber College and various other courses on pensions and pension law, as well as prior experience as a volunteer on a number of boards. She was appointed to the PSPP Corporation Board by AUPE.
Swann, Kerry
Kerry Swann is currently an Associate Advisor, working at Sun Life Financial in Regina. He has had over year 40 years in finance, focused on retirement planning and mutual fund / investment analysis / research. Kerry has worked with both individual and corporate clients (including whole blocks of business) in the course of his career. During his career, Kerry has taught courses related to the Certified Financial Planner designation. He is also a member of the Lion's Club since 1995, and continue to serves as Past President on the Board of the Saskatchewan Chapter of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons. Kerry was nominated to the PSPP Corporate Board by the University of Alberta Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).
Andriachuk, Bonnie
Bonnie Andriachuk, Q.C., ICd.d is the Senior Vice President Legal and Corporate Secretary with Servus Credit Union. Bonnie is currently a Trustee with the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation and has formerly served as a director with Alberta Pensions Services Corporation, Alberta Motor Association Insurance Corporation, and Women Building Futures. Bonnie received her LLB from the University of Alberta.
Cordeiro, Liliana
Liliana has been the Pensions Union Representative with the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) since September 2019. Her areas of responsibility include pension plan design, providing pension plan support services for members and pensioners, and providing in-depth pension expertise and guidance to AUPE as a trainer and technical advisor. Liliana was appointed to the PSPP Corporation Board of Directors in August 2019, and currently is the Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee, and the Vice-chair of the Investment Committee.
She started her career in pensions as a private pension plans regulator in the office of the Alberta Superintendent of Pensions and over 16 years supported major initiatives including legislative changes, development of the risk management strategy for Alberta regulated pension plans, and collaboration with regulators across Canada. Liliana then worked as Government of Alberta Internal Audit Manager before joining AUPE. Liliana holds a Post-Diploma in Management from University of Lethbridge, Accounting Diploma from NAIT and the Pension Plan Administration Certificate from Humber College.
