Nick Tywoniuk holds a Ph.D. in civil engineering (water resources) from the University of Ottawa. He has substantive dispute resolution experience. Nick has worked with Environment Canada and Public Works and Government Services Canada, and internationally. Nick is a chartered arbitrator and chartered mediator, and participates in conflict resolution programs at the Alberta Civil Courts, Service Alberta business licence appeals, and Alberta Municipal Affairs. He is a public adjudicator for the Law Society of Alberta’s discipline hearings.

A retired lawyer after 35 years, Mary-Kay Brook was General Counsel for the Alberta Liquor Control Board for 12 years before moving to Alberta Justice. At retirement, she was a Director at Alberta Justice, leading a team of 25 lawyers. Her practice has primarily been in administrative, employment and trade law, including public policy and crafting legislation.
Mary-Kay has also served on many community and church boards and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and at an orphanage in Tanzania.

Line has worked in private practice focusing on aboriginal and environmental matters, and as legal counsel in the energy and utilities industry, including at the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (predecessor to the Alberta Utilities Commission) and TransCanada.
