Land Agent Advisory Committee

Vass, Josh

Josh Vass started his career as a Licensed Alberta Land Agent in 2007 in the exploration and production sector of the oil & gas industry, working primarily in Central Alberta. In 2010, after the collapse of natural gas prices, Josh moved back to his hometown of Estevan, Saskatchewan to continue working as a Land Agent. During this time, Josh was involved in his first large linear project, acquiring rights for a pipeline connecting Saskatchewan and Manitoba which sparked a passion for these project types. What followed in 2012, when Josh moved back to Calgary, was a shift in focus to follow this passion, becoming involved in a pipeline project connecting Edmonton to Alberta’s Industrial Heartland. Josh evolved his role from acquiring land rights to leading the land team in liaising with the AER throughout the regulatory process, negotiations with legal representatives, engagement with the Surface Rights Board for Right of Entry Orders, and finalizing necessary approvals with Alberta Infrastructure. Josh found his other passion in leading teams. These teams have since supported the success of many other pipeline projects intersecting various regions of Alberta in addition to British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
