Pettie, Diane
Diane Pettie is a retired lawyer (KC) and certified Corporate Director (ICD.D). She brings over 35 years of legal practice and executive and corporate governance experience to board discussions. She is currently a director of ATB Financial, Chair of their Governance and Conduct Committee, and a member of their Risk Committee.
Diane served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of TSX-listed Canexus Corporation, a chemical manufacturing company; Assistant Vice President at Sempra Energy Trading; Associate General Counsel at Mirant Corporation (and Director of Mirant Canada Energy Marketing Ltd.); General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Pan-Alberta Gas Ltd.; and Manager, Legal Services at TransCanada.Prior to her in-house career, Diane practiced law at the firm now known as Borden Ladner Gervais LLP.
Diane has her JD from the University of Alberta, is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada and has the ESG Certificate from Global Competent Boards.
LeBlanc, Roxanne
Roxanne LeBlanc has been Assistant Deputy Minister of Finance at Alberta Energy since February 2021. A highly experienced senior financial management professional and Chartered Professional Accountant, Roxanne has a proven record of success in directing financial services, business, and operational planning processes, along with substantial experience dealing with complex, multi-party, and multi-jurisdictional challenges.
Working in the airport industry for ten years prior to joining the Government of Alberta, Roxanne served as Vice President of Corporate Services for the Fort McMurray Airport Authority. Roxanne then moved on to the Edmonton International Airport Authority.
Bryson, Corrina
Corrina Bryson has over 25 years of experience in the energy industry and currently serves on the boards of the Alberta Energy Regulator and the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board.
Previously, Ms. Bryson led her own consultancy company, Simplify Complexity Inc., providing petroleum engineering and management consulting services to operators and investors. From 2011 to 2016, she worked with CNOOC-Nexen in a variety of roles, including vice president of Resource Development North America. Between 2004 and 2011, Ms. Bryson was a consultant and director with RPS Energy and APA Petroleum Engineering. Ms. Bryson began her career with Shell, working in progressive engineering, project, and business roles from 1994 to 2004 in the Netherlands, the UK, and Canada.
Ms. Bryson graduated from the University of Bradford in England with B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Chemical Engineering with Management. She is a P.Eng. in Alberta and holds a Masters Certificate of Project Management (MCPM) from the University of Lethbridge. Ms. Bryson is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and holds the designation of ICD, Director (ICD.D.).
Mowat, David
Dave Mowat retired in June 2018 from President and CEO of ATB Financial. Under his leadership, ATB grew to more than 5,000 team members in 247 communities, $55 billion in assets, and served 725,000 customers. Named Canada's #1 CEO in 2016 by Glassdoor, Dave also made the list of Alberta's Top 50 Most Influential People by Alberta Venture Magazine in that same year. A 2015 Inspired Leader of the Year for the International Association of Business Communicators, Dave was also honoured as Business Person of the Year in 2014 by Alberta Venture.
In 2016, Dave headed Alberta's Royalty Review panel, whose recommendations were fully adopted by the province, marking a new and innovative approach to Alberta's oil and natural gas royalty structure. In 2019, Dave also served on the province's Blue Ribbon Panel on the Economy to make recommendations toward balancing the Alberta budget.
Having served on numerous boards, including Telus, Laurentian Bank, STARS, Alberta Blue Cross, Edmonton Airports, the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, and the National Music Centre in Calgary, Dave was also involved with Dogs With Wings, and in 2016 was accompanied everywhere by Vaughn, a black lab service puppy who was part of the agency's program to train service dogs to make life better for blind and autistic children.
Thompson, Stephen
Stephen is the Assistant Deputy Minister for Treasury and Risk Management overseeing all aspects of the Province’s capital markets activities for treasury, risk management and asset management.
Stephen has spent more than 25 years in senior capital markets roles for provincial governments, joining the Government of Alberta in 2013. Prior to entering the public service, Stephen worked in commercial and corporate banking in the Canadian chartered banking sector.
Stephen leads the teams responsible for the development and execution of the Province of Alberta's global funding programs including the development and execution of debt management strategies and borrowing programs for the Province’s debt portfolio. Stephen manages relationships with the global capital markets and investor communities and has spent much of his career travelling to build relationships and market Alberta across the globe.
Stephen has also overseen development of investment strategy and investment policy for Alberta’s $30 billion Heritage Fund and other provincial endowments and led the team responsible for the revitalization of the Heritage Fund and the creation of the Heritage Fund Opportunities Corporation.
Stephen has been an active volunteer throughout his career at several non-profit organizations in the areas of financial literacy, financial credentialing, market integrity and ethics.
Stephen was directly appointed as he meets all the competencies and skills required to perform the role of APMC Board Director.

Stephanie is a corporate director, independent consultant, and former senior executive with over 25 years of experience in engineering, large project start-up and operations, governance, joint venture negotiations, risk management, business development, strategic planning, organizational redesign, and change management. Stephanie has held senior executive roles with Shell Canada which included General Manager for non-technical risk, Community and Indigenous Relations for Canada, USA, and Latin America; and Vice President Business and Joint Ventures for the Heavy Oil Athabasca Oil Sands Project and AERA in California.
Stephanie is currently serving on the board of Cardinal Energy (Lead Director; Audit; Reserves; Environmental, Social & Governance; and Compensation & Corporate Governance Committees), as well as the board of Cabin Ridge Coal, a private coal venture, and as an independent corporate ombuds for Shell Canada.
Stephanie's community service includes President and Chair of the MEOW Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, is a Professional Engineer in Alberta, has a Master of Business Administration with the University of Alberta, is a member of the International Ombuds Association, and holds the Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D designation.
James, Barry
Mr. Barry James, FCPA, FCA, ICD.D, is a corporate director and former PricewaterhouseCoopers Managing Partner with more than 40 years of board, governance, audit, risk management and capital markets experience. He has exposure to public companies, Crown corporations, private enterprises and not-for-profit organizations, with expertise in financial reporting, enterprise risk management, internal controls, regulatory compliance, capital allocation, mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions.
Mr. James was a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP from 1989 to 2013, where his roles included Managing Partner of the Edmonton Office, Partner for Audit and Assurance and Partner for Public Offerings Services. During his tenure, he provided audit, assurance, governance, capital markets and strategic advisory services to public and private companies across multiple industries and led IPOs, public offerings, acquisitions and reporting engagements for numerous energy sector issuers and service companies.
Mr. James has extensive corporate governance experience and currently serves as a Director and Audit Committee Chair of Corus Entertainment Inc. and AutoCanada Inc., and as a Director and Chair of the Audit, Risk Management and Finance Committee of the University of Alberta Properties Trust. Previously he served as Vice Chair of ATB Financial and Chair of its Audit Committee and has held numerous private company and advisory board appointments.
Mr. James is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant and holds the ICD.D designation. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with Distinction, from the University of Alberta and completed the Executive Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Chiasson, Keith
Mr. Keith Chiasson is a senior oil and gas executive with over 30 years of experience across upstream and downstream energy operations in Canada and the United States.
From 2016 to 2025, Mr. Chiasson held increasingly senior leadership roles with Cenovus. As Chief Operating Officer of Cenovus Energy, he led more than 6,000 employees across upstream and downstream operations, with responsibility for strategy, capital allocation, major projects and key corporate functions. As Executive Vice President, Downstream, he led the company’s manufacturing and commercial activities across crude oil, natural gas, refined products and asphalt, including refined products marketing. Earlier in his career, he held senior operations and planning roles with ExxonMobil and Imperial Oil, including Production Operations Manager, Planning & Business Analysis Manager and Well Services Manager.
Mr. Chiasson currently serves as Advisory Chair of Thompson Construction Group and previously served as Chairman of the Board of Husky Midstream General Partnership.
Mr. Chiasson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with Distinction, from the Technical University of Nova Scotia.
Rooney, Bob
Mr. Bob Rooney is a senior energy executive with over 35 years of experience, primarily in the oil and gas industry. His experience includes corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital allocation, governance, enterprise risk management and government and stakeholder relations.
From 2017 to 2024, Mr. Rooney held senior executive roles with Enbridge Inc., including Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer. He was a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Capital Allocation Committee and Investment Review Committee.
Previously, Mr. Rooney served as Executive Vice President, Corporate and General Counsel at Talisman Energy, where he was deeply involved in strategy, capital allocation, M&A, business development, capital structuring and corporate restructuring activities. Earlier, he spent over 20 years with Bennett Jones LLP, where he was a Partner, Executive Committee Member and Co-Leader of the Energy & Natural Resources Practice Group.
Mr. Rooney has extensive public and private company board experience and currently serves as a Director of MEG Energy Corp., including as a member of its Audit, Governance and Nomination Committees. His previous board appointments include Athabasca Oil Corp., MGM Energy Corp., RimRock Oil & Gas Inc. and numerous private energy companies.
Mr. Rooney holds an LLB from Western University, is a Barrister & Solicitor with the Law Society of Alberta and was appointed King’s Counsel.
