Michael Kim is an entrepreneur who has owned and operated many service-oriented businesses, including those in the fields of insurance, travel, banking, and a start-up incubator for immigrants. Michael has served as the chair of the board for several charities and has received the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee medal in recognition of his service as the Chair of the board for an education-based charity in Calgary, AB.

van Rooijen, Shanine

Shanine van Rooijen earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Alberta. Commencing her professional journey as a licensed pharmacist, she garnered valuable experience across multiple community pharmacies in Southern Alberta. Transitioning to a role as a site lead within Alberta Health Services, Shanine now serves her community with dedication and expertise within a rural hospital setting.

Murchland, Peter

Peter Kennedy Murchland is a marketing consultant in the energy industry in Calgary, Alberta. Over the past decade Peter worked for Spectra Energy, the Alberta Energy Regulator and the Government of Alberta in the capacity of corporate communications. Peter held two prior Board appointments, one with the Canadian Cancer Society (Nova Scotia) and the other with the Market Research Intelligence Association. Peter has a Master (bus/law/comp.sci) degree, a Bachelor of Arts (poli.sci) degree and a Bachelor of Public Relations degree.

Pomerleau, Solange

Solange Pomerleau is a Senior Advisor with Alberta Health Services, working in making improvements to the provincial electronic health record. Solange has worked as a member of the complaint review comittee for the College of Nurses of Alberta. Solange has a Certificate in Tribunal Administrative Justice, a Certificate in Patient Safety, and a Certificate in Healthcare Quality Improvement.

Solange holds a Baccalaurate in nursing from the University of Calgary.

Runka Owens, Ashley

Ashley Runka Owens is a non-profit leader focused on digital transformation, customer experience, and community impact. As Manager of Digital Engagement at United Way of Calgary and Area, she leads strategies that strengthen donor relationships and operational excellence. Ashley also contributes her expertise in governance and communication through her service on the Temple B’Nai Tikvah Board of Trustees and the Council of the Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors.
