Smith, Indira

Indira Smith is an Access Retention Officer with the School of Foundational Learning at Bow Valley College. In this role, she promotes student retention by assisting students with non-academic issues that are preventing their academic success. Ms. Smith is a member of the Pride Week Working Group and is a representative for the School of Foundational Learning on the Intercultural Centre Advisory Committee. She holds a Community, Family and Child Studies diploma from Camosun College.

Claypool, Kara

Ms. Kara Claypool is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial & Operations Officer with Travel Alberta. Prior, she served as Chief Financial & Operating Officer of Vintage Group and Executive Vice President of Jugo Juice. She is the Chair of the Love for Lewiston Foundations and was a member of the Board of Governors of CPA Alberta. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary. She is also a graduate of the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program.

Kousinioris, John

Mr. John Kousinioris has been on the board since December 2019 and is the Vice Chair of the board and chair of the Human Resources and Governance Council. He is the Chief Operating Officer of TransAlta Corporation, where he is responsible for overseeing operations, shared services, commercial, trading, customer solutions, hedging, and optimization. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Business Administration degree from York University, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.

Sharples, Kerry

Ms. Kerry Sharples is a Co-founder, Chief Executive Officer, and an Educational Director of Playtheos Inc. in Calgary. Ms. Sharples is also a Program Chair and an Instructor for the Health Administration Program at Bow Valley College. She previously worked at Foothills Hospital in Calgary as an Administrative Support in the Day Surgery and Trauma department and as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Trauma department. She holds a Master of Arts in Learning and Technology from Royal Roads University and a Licensed Practical Nurse diploma from Bow Valley College. July 2025.


Garcia, David

Mr. David Garcia is a customer-focused business student with experience in retail sales, customer service, and student leadership. He has demonstrated strong skills in managing high-volume customer interactions, resolving issues efficiently, and contributing to fast-paced work environments through his role as a Sales Associate with OSL Canada. He is currently pursuing a Business Administration diploma in Risk and Insurance Management at Bow Valley College, expected to be completed in January 2028.

Ezeudoye, Tchukas

Mr. Tchukas Ezeudoye is a strategic business development and sales leader with over seven years of experience driving revenue growth, building strategic partnerships, and advancing sustainable business operations. He has demonstrated strong expertise in market analysis, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership across both private sector and global health settings, including coordinating large-scale immunization programs with the World Health Organization. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Michael Okpara University and is currently pursuing a Health Care Aide certificate at Bow Valley College.

Mr. Ezeudoye was directly appointed on the basis of meeting one or more of the competencies, skills, and attributes as described above.

de la Rocha, Cecilia

Ms. Cecilia de la Rocha is a senior leader with over 30 years of experience across the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. She began her career as a professional engineer managing mining and infrastructure projects and later transitioned into executive roles focused on fundraising, governance, and strategic development. She is Chief Development Officer at Contemporary Calgary Arts Society and Board Chair of Dare to Care. Ms. de la Rocha holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Toronto, has completed the Executive Directions leadership program, and holds the Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.

Kaumeyer, Michael

Mr. Michael Kaumeyer is Vice Chair, Nicola Family at Nicola Wealth Management Ltd., working with high-net-worth clients and supporting national strategic growth. He has over 20 years of experience advising families, entrepreneurs, and foundations, and previously founded and led Grayhawk Wealth, growing it to $1.5 billion in assets under management. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta and is a Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA).

Loewen, Emma

Ms. Emma Loewen is a senior investment banking executive specializing in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and energy infrastructure. She is Managing Director in the Energy Infrastructure and Transition Group at CIBC World Markets, advising Western Canadian power and utility clients on strategic transactions. She has held senior roles at Morgan Stanley Canada, BMO Capital Markets, and RBC Dominion Securities, and has received the Women in Capital Markets Transformational Leadership Award. Ms. Loewen holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University and a BA (Honours) in History with a minor in French from Middlebury College.

Murray, Sara

Ms. Sara Murray is a senior finance and strategy executive with over 25 years in the telecommunications and technology sectors. She is Vice President, Connected Living Management at Rogers Communications, where she oversees retention, renewal, and upsell strategies for a $6 billion business serving 4.4 million customers, and previously served as Vice President, Commercial Finance at Shaw Communications. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of New Brunswick, completed the Cable Executive Management program at Harvard Business School, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta.

Toner, Sherie

Ms. Sherie Toner is a senior sales and marketing executive with expertise in broadcast, digital, and integrated media. She is an Integrated Account Executive and Marketing & Media Consultant with Corus Entertainment in Calgary, managing one of Canada’s largest client portfolios. She co-created Calgary Media Pros, an inbound marketing platform. Ms. Toner serves on the boards of the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre and Bow Valley College Stakeholder Engagement Council. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Alberta and has completed professional development in digital marketing, negotiation, finance, leadership, and fundraising through programs at Google Digital Marketing, Northwestern University, UBC, and Corus University.
