Aichele, Danella

Danella Aichele is a middle school and high school teacher who has worked with students from a variety of different cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds within the Calgary Board of Education and Rocky View School District. Danella has over ten years of public teaching experience and holds a Master of Public Policy.

Bates, Lindsey

Lindsey Bates is principal and science teacher at J.R. Robson School in Vermilion, Alberta, within the Buffalo Trail School Division. A lifelong learner, Lindsey earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Saskatchewan, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and a Master of Education from the University of Calgary.

Boytinck, Jenelle

Jenelle Boytinck is a Grade 2 teacher who works with elementary students to help them learn Alberta curriculum in all forms – reading, writing, mathematics, communication, emotional regulation, collaboration and more. She has experience being on committees for literacy, numeracy, wellness and physical education. Jenelle has completed comprehensive professional learning for English as an additional language, literacy and numeracy practices. Jenelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alberta (2018).

Carinelli, Nadia

Nadia Carinelli is an educator who works with elementary students to support their academic growth, development and success in the classroom. Nadia has worked with the Calgary Catholic School District for the past 28 years and is currently teaching Grade 4. Nadia is a dedicated and experienced teacher with a strong background in education and student support. Nadia holds a degree in education with a minor in special education.

Duiker, Robert

Robert Duiker is a school principal who works with children, parents and other stakeholders to build a community of learning. Robert is an experienced coach of many sports teams. Robert holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Dordt University.

Formosa, Kelden

Kelden Formosa is a Grade 8 humane letters teacher (English language arts and social studies) and part-time vice principal at Calgary Classical Academy, a charter school. He is in his twelfth year of teaching, with experience across grades 2, 4, 5 and 8, and has also served as a learning strategist teacher, supporting students with diverse learning needs. Kelden holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Education from the University of Notre Dame.

Gamble, Jesse

Jesse Gamble is an Alberta educator teaching senior high social studies with the Lethbridge School Division Number 51, focusing on critical thinking, civic engagement and global issues. He actively focuses on enriching student learning with real-world connections. Jesse has participated in school-based committees that inform instructional practice. Jesse holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge, with a focus on history, anthropology and Indigenous studies.

Grammatikos, Angela

Angela Grammatikos is a classroom teacher who has been working in education since the 2005–2006 school year. Most recently, Angela sat on the Aggression and Complexity in Schools Action Team and helped to create policies to ensure a better education for students and teachers. Angela has a Bachelor of Communications and a Bachelor of Education and is currently completing a master’s degree in psychiatry, psychology and neuroscience.

Griffioen, Keith

Keith Griffioen is a 27-year educator, currently teaching middle school. He has taught social studies, language arts, instrumental and choral music, computer and athletics courses in both independent and public schools, also serving on a myriad of school and division-based committees. Keith spent seven years teaching assessment of learning and music education at the University of Lethbridge. Keith holds a Doctor of Education from the University of Glasgow (United Kingdom).

Hill, Jeff

Jeffrey Hill is a vice principal who works with students and staff to promote inclusive learning through instructional leadership and divisional collaboration efforts. Jeff has served in a wide range of school, division and provincial committees specializing in literacy, assessment and inclusion. Jeff holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Assessment (2016) from the University of Lethbridge, a Bachelor of Education (2011) from Western University and a Bachelor of Science (2008) from the University of Lethbridge.

Jacksteit, Logyn

Logyn Jacksteit is a teacher with seven years of experience, currently with Prairie Rose School Division. He is an Edwin Parr Teacher Award nominee and recipient of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta’s Social Studies Education Award. Logyn holds a Bachelor of Education from Medicine Hat College/Mount Royal University, graduating with presidential honours. He is also a graduate of the General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program at the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology, Kelsey Campus.

Kierstead, Matthew

Matthew Kierstead is the collegiate principal with Fort Vermilion School Division, growing student career development across a diverse rural community in northern Alberta. With thirty plus years in education, he has served as principal across multiple school divisions in central and northern Alberta and contributed to professional and community organizations at the local and provincial level. Matthew holds a Doctor of Education in Learning and Leading from the University of Portland.

Rast, Kathy

Kathy Rast is currently employed by Livingstone Range School Division and teaches Biology, Chemistry and junior high sciences at Livingstone School in Lundbeck, Alberta. She sits on several community boards. Kathy has a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics with a biomedical minor from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary.

Russell, Denise

Denise Russell is an elementary school teacher who works with students to build strong academic and social-emotional foundations. She has taught in Alberta, British Columbia and Newfoundland and Labrador across independent, Catholic and public-school systems. Denise has mentored new teachers, supported curriculum alignment and collaborated with psychologists in the administration of psychoeducational assessments. Denise graduated from Dalhousie University and holds a Bachelor of Education from Mount Saint Vincent University.

Tirschmann, Bailee

Bailee Tirschmann is in her tenth year of teaching with Edmonton School Division. She has taught Interactions at King Edward School (two years), grades 3 and 4 at Donald R. Getty (six years) and Grade 4 at Joey Moss School (one and half years). Throughout her teaching career, she stepped up to coach (soccer, basketball and track) and volunteered for various school roles. Bailee has a Bachelor of Education (Elementary Education) from the University of Alberta.

Weber, Marnie

Marnie Weber is a high school teacher with 26 years of experience in rural communities, supporting English as an Additional Language learners, high-needs students, applied pathway students and those in mainstream programs. Marnie Weber holds a Bachelor of Education in Science from the University of Calgary.
