Chichak, Maryann

Maryann Chichak served two terms as mayor of the town of Whitecourt. She was the owner and business manager of A-Tech N.D.T. Limited, a full-service inspection company providing Non-Destructive Testing and Inspection Services to the Oil & Gas, Pulp and Paper, Power Generation and Petrochemical industries for 11 years. She has the designation of Director from the Institute of Corporate Directors Rotman, Directors Education Program and has a Fellows Designation from the Canadian Credit Union Institute – General Business Studies Fellows Program. Maryann Chichak was directly recruited and appointed to the Alberta Review Board on the basis of acceptably meeting the competencies, skills and attributes required by the Board.

Gordon, Alan

Dr. Alan Gordon is a well known Edmonton psychiatrist who has worked for many years in a variety of clinical settings, including Alberta Hospital Edmonton, the University of Alberta Hospital, the Royal Alexandra Hospital, and for 38 years at the Edmonton Mental Health Clinic where he continues to work part time.


He has considerable administrative experience as Medical Director at Alberta Hospital Edmonton, Chief of Psychiatry at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, and Regional Clinical Director for the whole of Edmonton.

Stovel, Laura

Laura Stovel is a practicing psychiatrist who works at the University of Alberta Hospital.

Laura has held positions on Boards, including the Examination Board in Psychiatry at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, where she is the Vice-Chair.

Laura is an Associate Professor at the University of Alberta, where she teaches medical students and residents, and is Associate Chair of Education. Laura holds a BA and an MD from the University of Alberta.

McCruden, Jane

Jane McCruden has been a psychiatrist for 27 years. She has a Bachelor of Science in biology and psychology and a Medical Degree from University of Calgary. She obtained her Fellowship in psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. McCruden divides her practice between acute inpatient care in Calgary and psychiatric rehabilitation for the persistent, severely mentally ill in Claresholm. She has consulted to Canadian Mental Health and Suicide Services and served on the Board of Suicide Services.

Ko, Patty

Patty Ko is an associate with Bishop & McKenzie LLP and practices in the areas of wills, estates and dependent adults, privacy and consumer protection regulatory law, and civil litigation. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association. She is a director for the Chinatown Transformation Collaborative Society of Edmonton, as well as a member and presenter for the Edmonton Community Foundation Wills Week and Estate Administration Week committees. She has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce, with Distinction, both from the University of Alberta.

Chipeur, Gerry

Gerald Chipeur, KC, is a trial and appellate lawyer and practices business and administrative law with Miller Thomson. He serves as Chair of the School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary Advisory Committee, Honorary Consul for Korea in Alberta and Chair of the Board of Directors for the Calgary Homeless Foundation. Gerry is a member of the Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice and the International Commission of Jurists. He has a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws from the University of Alberta.

Forsyth, Heather

Heather Forsyth was appointed Alberta’s Solicitor General in 2001. She launched the high risk offender website, established the first Amber Alert, and brought forward the Integrated Response to Organized Crime. As Minister of Children’s Services, Heather passed the Drug endangered Children Act and established the Protection of Children Involved in Prostitution Act. Heather is founder of the Peanut Butter Classic Charity Golf Tournament which supports Alcove Women's' Residence.

Hawranik, Gerald

Gerald Hawranik, KC, has practiced law for over 35 years specializing in board governance, corporate reorganization, corporate acquisitions and mergers, wills, estate planning and administrative law. He has significant business experience as has co-owned a number of businesses. Gerald chaired numerous quasi-judicial Alberta government boards including St. Albert Victim Services. He served as a full time board member on the Parole Board of Canada. Gerald has a Bachelor of Laws and two degrees in Education, all from the University of Manitoba.

Louhela, Lori

Lori Louhela was a full-time board member for the Parole Board of Canada from 2014 to 2017. Previously, over an 18-year time period, Lori worked as a parole officer, a parole officer supervisor, then as area director and finally as the associate district director for the Alberta/Northwest Territories District Parole, Correctional Service of Canada. Lori has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary.

Marr, Todd

Todd Marr has practiced law since 2011 and is currently counsel to the Calgary Catholic School District. Before becoming a lawyer, Todd was a registered physiotherapist. He has Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Science degrees, both with Distinction. Todd has appeared before the Alberta Courts of Appeal and Queen's Bench and the Tax Court of Canada. He has conducted civil litigation, fatality inquiries, and community safety order applications. Todd is actively involved in his parish and regularly teaches adult faith formation classes.

LeBlanc, Guy

Guy LeBlanc has worked in the correctional/justice system within territorial/federal institutions as well as throughout the community for 43 years. From 2010 to 2019, Guy worked with the Parole Board of Canada as a board member. Previously he worked at the North Slave Correctional Centre in Yellowknife in a variety of roles ranging from a correctional officer to a deputy warden over a 30-year period. Guy has a high school diploma and a technical school diploma. He has completed university courses in counselling, psychology, criminology, and human behaviours.

Lee, Lora

Lora Lee is a partner with Bishop & McKenzie LLP in Edmonton. Lora is a litigator with a general practice and an interest in employment law, collections, security enforcement and foreclosure matters. Her practice also extends to condominium and real estate law. Lora has a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a bachelor of laws both from the University of Alberta.

Young, Steven

Steven Young is a strategy, project and change management consultant as well as a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta School of Business and NAIT where he leads courses in the area of negotiations, mediation and conflict resolution. In 2012 Mr. Young was elected to the Alberta Legislature and served as a member of the Legislative Assembly and as the Chief Government Whip. Academically Mr. Young earned a bachelor of education and a masters in business administration from the University of Alberta and recently was awarded an ICD.D designation from the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of Business. Mr. Young currently sits on a board of Alberta Internet of Things (IoT) Association.

Rourke, Margaret

Margaret Rourke completed her Doctor of Medicine and psychiatry training at the University of Alberta. During her sixteen years in clinical practice, she worked in Geriatric Psychiatry, private psychotherapy practice as well as a clinical lecturer at the University of Alberta. Since 2018, she has worked on the Mental Health Review Board as the Psychiatrist Member. Her past community volunteer experience includes various roles on the Edmonton Academy Parent Council Executive and the University of Alberta Steadward Centre Fundraising Committee.

Tanguay, Robert

Dr. Robert Tanguay is a psychiatrist and a clinical assistant professor with the departments of Psychiatry and Surgery at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. Dr. Tanguay is the co-chair of the Alberta Pain Strategy with AHS, and the founder of the Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Program for AHS. Dr. Tanguay has a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience (with Distinction) from the University of Lethbridge and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Calgary.
