Doherty, Jaclyn

Dr. Jaclyn Doherty is the Dean for the Centre of Teaching and Learning and Innovation at Lethbridge College. Previously, she was the Manager of Curriculum and Learning Experience Design at the college. Dr. Doherty has a strong understanding of Alberta’s colleges and their role in the broader post-secondary sector, and she has experience working with the systems that contribute to post-secondary quality assurance. Dr. Doherty holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Western University, where her dissertation focused on promoting innovation, interdisciplinary teamwork, and collaboration in higher education.

McQuillan, Kevin

Dr. Kevin McQuillan is a Research Fellow at the School of Public Policy, University of Calgary and has overseen the university’s Quality Assurance Unit Review processes. He was previously Professor of Sociology and served as Dean of Social Science, Dean of Arts and Deputy Provost at the University of Calgary. Prior to this, he was Chair of the Department of Sociology at Western University and represented Western as its Academic Colleague at the Council of Ontario Universities. He holds a PhD from Princeton University and has published widely in the field of demography.

Zutter, Cynthia

Dr. Cynthia Zutter is a Professor of Anthropology at MacEwan University and former Vice Provost and AVP Research and Teaching. She has worked as an archaeologist throughout the North Atlantic region, examining past interactions and the interplay of humans in their environment and she has held multiple federally funded research grants. Dr. Zutter serves as director and committee chair on multiple not for profit organizations both locally and regionally. 

Prud'homme-Genereux, Annie

Dr. Annie Prud’homme-Généreux is the current Vice President of Science at TELUS World of Science (Edmonton) where she is enthusiastic about science outreach into the community. She was one of the five founding faculty at Quest University Canada in British Columbia, where she collaborated with a small group of academics to develop a broad education for engaged global citizens. At Quest, she also served as Chair, Life Sciences and Vice President Research and Administration. She was recognized with the 2012 National Association of Biology Teachers’ Award for innovative teaching. She is passionate about educational development and helping other instructors achieve their classroom goals.

McPherson, Moira

Dr. McPherson has served on the Campus Alberta Quality Council since March 2023. She recently completed a term as Lakehead University’s President and Vice-Chancellor and was responsible for strategic planning, leadership, and policy development. Prior to this role, Dr. McPherson served as Lakehead’s Provost-and Vice-President, Academic where she provided strategic leadership on academic and community connections, international recruitment, and partnerships, as well as program development, quality assurance, accreditation, and resource allocation. Dr. McPherson served two terms on the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance and was a member of the Executive Committee for the Ontario Council of Academic Vice-Presidents.

Dr. McPherson holds a PhD specializing in Applied Biomechanics from the University of Alberta, a Master of Science degree specializing in Biomechanics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from the University of New Brunswick. October 2024.




Church, Jeffrey

Dr. Jeffrey Robert Church is an economist with extensive expertise in industrial organization, competition policy, and international trade. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (First Class Honours) from the University of Calgary. Dr. Church has had a long academic career defined by excellence in teaching, graduate supervision, and scholarly research, and he has held leadership roles in academic programs and departments. He is widely recognized for his work as an expert witness, having appeared before provincial and national courts and tribunals on complex economic and regulatory matters. His experience spans academic scholarship, applied policy analysis, and public interest decision-making.



Kooistra, Remkes

Dr. Remkes Kooistra is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Mathematics at The King’s University in Edmonton, where he also serves as the chair of the Interdisciplinary Science program. He has held other governance and leadership roles at The King’s University, including chair of Faculty Council, chair and negotiator for the labour-oriented Faculty Staff Association, and chair of an institution-wide Governance Review. He is chair of the board of the Post-Secondary Prison Education Foundation, a non-profit that organizes and funds prison education projects; he also serves as one of their volunteer instructors offering courses to inmates in several Canadian prisons. He holds a Doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Alberta in the areas of Algebraic and Differential Geometry.

Fehr, Joy

Dr. Joy A. Fehr is a senior post-secondary and health-system leader with extensive experience in executive administration, governance, and academic leadership across Canada and the United States. Her leadership career also includes roles as Provost, Associate Provost, Vice President for Academic Administration, and Dean, with comprehensive responsibility for academic quality, accreditation, budgeting, faculty development, and institutional effectiveness. Dr. Fehr holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Calgary.

Hosgood, Christopher

Dr. Christopher Hosgood is a Dean Emeritus at the University of Lethbridge. He recently was the Interim Deputy Provost at the University of Lethbridge and held other senior positions such as Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences and Associate Dean, Faculty of Arts and Science. He has served on many boards including the Alberta SPOR Steering Committee, Alberta Academic Health Network Executive Committee, the Alberta HSPnet Management Committee and the Alberta Gambling Research Institute. Dr. Hosgood holds a PhD in History from the University of Manitoba, Master of Philosophy degree in Victorian Studies from the University of Leicester, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Victoria.

Kumar, Amit

Dr. Amit Kumar is a Canada Research Chair in Assessment of Energy Systems (Tier 1) and a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta (U of A). He has served as the NSERC/Cenovus/Alberta Innovates Associate Industrial Research Chair in Energy and Environmental Systems Engineering since September 2012. He is the Cenovus Energy Endowed Chair in Environmental Engineering and also the Deputy Director of Future Energy Systems. Dr. Kumar has served on several expert panels including the European Commission, NSF (USA), the House of Commons and the Senate of Canada for his expertise on energy issues. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and was listed by Reuters in the “The Reuters Hot List,” a list of the world’s top climate scientists according to how influential they are. He has co-authored more than 220 peer-reviewed journal publications. He was awarded the Young Engineer of the Year award by Canadian Society of Bioengineering for his outstanding contribution in the areas of bioenergy and biofuels. Dr. Kumar completed his BSc in Energy Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, and moved to the Asian Institute of Technology for his MSc in Energy Technology. He joined the University of British Columbia as a postdoctoral fellow in 2004 after receiving his PhD from the U of A that same year.

Okine, Erasmus

Dr. Erasmus Okine is a Provost and Vice-President (Academic) Emeritus at the University of Lethbridge after also having served as the Vice-President (Research). He also served as Associate Vice-President (Research) and Associate Vice-President (Academic) at the University of Alberta. He was gifted the Blackfoot name, Ninaisamotoo (man who arrived long ago, kindred spirit) for his committed work with the community. He has mentored more than 30 PhD and MSc students and educated hundreds of undergraduate students in his career. He was the lead in the development of CowBytes, an innovative nutrition and ration balancing and decision-making tool for producers and students, used worldwide. He is the author of more than 140 scientific articles, 100 extension articles, 150 abstracts and several book chapters. For his leadership in Agricultural Research, Dr. Okine has received several awards including the Alberta Premier’s Silver Award for Excellence, Fellowships of the Canadian Society of Animal Science and the International College of Nutrition, and the Canadian Society of Animal Science Industry Award in Extension and Public Service. He is a past President of the Canadian Society of Animal Science and has been Associate Editor of various journals including the American Journal of Animal Science.
