Rysavy, Neil

Neil Rysavy is an Environment, Health and Safety Advisor at Suncor Energy. Neil has experience on various boards and has held roles including Director, President, and Finance Director, and he has been actively involved in Governance and Recruitment committees. Neil is a licensed land agent in Alberta and a commercial pilot. Neil attended Olds College and Prairie College, and he believes in lifelong learning; in May 2025, he will be finishing his Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Alberta.

Parent, Edward (Ted)

Edward (Ted) Parent is currently the President of Hurland Services, having joined the company in 1997. Mr. Parent's experience in public consultation, regulatory compliance and surface acquisition is extensive. As a senior land agent, Mr. Parent takes a leading role in the successful negotiation of surface rights acquisitions for a wide range of energy development applications in Western Canada. Mr. Parent is a Past President of the Alberta Association of Surface Land Agents (AASLA) and has held all executive positions within the association.

DeBruijn, Gunnar

Gunnar DeBruijn is a Professional Engineer and has been a technical leader in the oil and gas industry for 30+ years. Gunnar has committee experience on the Canadian Standards Association and American Petroleum Institute standards committees, gaining consensus and publishing industry standards. Gunnar is a Certified Petroleum Engineer with the Society of Petroleum Engineers and holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta. He is a landowner in central Alberta.

Quaschnick, Clayton

Clayton Quaschnick is a surface landman and grain producer who farms with his wife and family in Hanna, Alberta. Clayton volunteers his time as a member of the Starland Seed Cleaning Plant Board of Directors and is an active CAPL member, sitting on the FAM committee. Clayton is a licenced land agent in Alberta and attended Olds College in the Land Acquisition and Management program.

Bradford, Megan

Megan Bradford's work experience includes over 10 years in oil and gas and the pipeline finance and regulatory fields. She is currently employed as a Consultant with Pivotal Capital Advisory Corp. overseeing several large research projects, including regulation surrounding greenhouse gas offsets and regulation of professional conduct in Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and her master’s degree in public administration has provided her expertise in public policy. Megan holds valuable committee experience with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers as well as volunteer experience.

Palmer, Hope

Hope Palmer is an Interim Land Agent/Permanent Land Agent Applicant and Lead Right of Way Administrator who works with landowners and clients to ensure projects are beneficial for all. Hope has experience in childcare and minor sports boards. Hope is a Land Agent, Land Administrator, and First Aider. Hope notably was the winner of Community Builder of the year while serving as a Resident Assistant at Olds College. Hope holds a diploma in Business Administration and a Land Agent diploma from SAIT and Olds College, respectively.

Thorburn, Byron

Byron Thorburn is a land agent who works with ATCO gas to facilitate the installation and maintenance of natural gas transmission and distribution systems. Byron has been a land agent with ATCO for 10 years working with both internal and external customers on a broad range of utility projects. Byron has held positions on various committees and boards and has been both a councilor and executive for the Natural Gas Employees Association, and he is a journeyman machinist.

Bender, Kevin

Kevin Bender has 36 years of farming experience and is the current president of Bender Farms Ltd. He has also served on the Board of Directors for various non-profit boards and organizations including the Alberta Wheat Commission, Canadian International Grains Institute and Alberta Canola Producers Commission, to name a few.

Hargreaves, Teresa

Teresa is a manager who manages utility customers, infrastructure and various water management sites. She has always maintained her love for the oil and gas industry. Where she can, she advises, teaches, and deals with various stakeholders. Teresa was also an instructor with Mount Royal University teaching Surface Land. As a Métis person, she has huge respect for our Indigenous People and continues to learn. Teresa has been in both municipal government administration and the oil and gas industry for over 30 years and has managed various telecommunication and solar acquisitions.
