Graham, Carolyn
Ms. Carolyn Graham is Executive Vice-President at Canadian Western Bank Financial Group. She serves and has served on a number of boards, including Melcor Real Estate Investment, the Edmonton Symphony and Concert Hall Foundation, and Canadian West Foundation. Ms. Graham was previously a public member on Grant MacEwan University’s board from 2011 to 2017 and has served as Chair since August 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Distinction from the University of Alberta. She has earned her Chartered Professional Accountant designation and the Institute of Corporate Directors designation.

Guiney, Adam
Mr. Adam Guiney is the General Manager of Antrim Industries. He has been a board member on the Grant MacEwan University board since 2019 and serves as the Vice-Chair of Strategy and Stakeholder Relations Committee. He has served on the board of the Alberta Credit Union Board of Directors since 2014, and he is the former Vice-President of the Edmonton Petroleum Club Board of Governors. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grant MacEwan University and has received the Lawrence Decore Award.

Haskins, Sandra
Ms. Sandra Haskins is the Senior Vice-President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer with Capital Power Corporation. In this role, she is accountable for the Capital Power Finance Development and Accreditation Program, which recruits accounting graduates and provides work experience for the Chartered Professional Account designation. She is a board member and the Finance and Audit Committee Chair for the Citadel Theatre. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Gelmini, Lucio
Dr. Lucio Gelmini is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Sciences at MacEwan University. He has taught at MacEwan since 1995 and previously served as Chair of the Department of Chemistry. He has previously taught at Red Deer College and at the University of British Columbia. He is a member of the Chemical Institute of Canada, Edmonton section, and a member of the Alberta Science Network. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry (Honours) from the University of Windsor.
Cui, Victor
Mr. Victor Cui is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Edmonton Elks Football Club. Previously, he was co-founder and Chief Executive Officer with ONE Championship and Chief Executive Officer of ONE Elite Agency. He serves as a mentor for the University of Alberta's ThresholdImpact Mentoring Service and a board member for the Parkinson’s Association of Alberta. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Alberta.

Banister, Linda
Ms. Linda Banister has been on The Board of Governors of Grant MacEwan University since April 2020 and serves as Chair of Governance and Human Resources Committee. She serves as a board member on the Edmonton Community Foundation, City of Edmonton, NAIT Presidential Advisory Committee, and is Vice President of the Edmonton Oil Kings Education Board. She holds a Master of Public Administration and Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta. She is a National Credentialed Evaluator, Fellow of the Canadian Evaluation Society, Fellow of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants, Certified Market Research Professional and Certified Management Consultant. She also has her ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Martin, Julian
Dr. Robin Julian Martin is a retired Professor Emeritus from the University of Alberta. He was previously the Director for the Federal Cabinet Ministers’ Regional Office and has served on many boards and committees, including the Surface Rights Board, Land Compensation Board, and MindFuel. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Victoria, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Texas, and a Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Cambridge.

Stelter, John
Mr. John Stelter has been on The Board of Governors of Grant MacEwan University since June 2020 and serves on their Audit and Risk Committee, the Finance, Property and Investment Committee, and the Investment Working Group. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Audit Partner with KPMG LLP. He is a member of Alberta Municipalities APEX Governance Board and the Alberta Municipalities Audit and Finance Committee. He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta Bylaws & Rules Committee, former Vice Chair of the CPA Western School of Business, former Chair of the Audit Committee of the CA School of Business, and former external member of MacEwan's Audit Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) degree from the University of Alberta.

Onyegbula, Cynthia
Ms. Cynthia Onyegbula is the Director of First Nations Inuit Health Branch of Indigenous Services Canada. She has over 10 years experience working with the Leadership of Treaty 6, 7, and 8 First Nation communities across Alberta. She has served on many boards, but more recently is a Director on When African Women Talk and past Director of the Research Ethics Board with the University of Alberta. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from Lakehead University, a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia, and a Project Management certificate from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. She is Registered Kinesiologist, and a member of the Alberta Public Health Association and the Canadian Public Health Association.

Kashuba, Scott
Mr. Scott Kashuba has been a member on The Board of Governors of Grant MacEwan University since July 2020. Prior to retiring in 2021, He was the Director of Risk and Assurance Services with Alberta Blue Cross. He serves as a member on the Alberta Motor Association Corporation Investment Committee, Director with the Insurance Services Corporation, and Vice-Chair of the Edmonton Regional Board. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree, a Master of Arts degree in Sociology, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Alberta.
Sopkow, Tracy
Ms. Tracy Sopkow has been a member on The Board of Governors of Grant MacEwan University since July 2020. She currently is the Chief Executive Officer of the Rural Health Professions Action Plan. Prior, she was the Chief Executive Officer of Covenant Foundation. She serves as a member with the Greater Edmonton Foundation Seniors Housing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta and a Public Relations diploma from Grant MacEwan University.
Joseph, Reg
Mr. Reg Joseph has been on the board since April 2021, and he currently serves as Chair on the Strategy and Stakeholder Relations Committee. He is the current CEO of Health City in Edmonton. His wealth of experience in the health sector also includes roles as the CEO of Metabolomic Technologies Inc., the executive-in-residence with TEC Edmonton, and as vice president of Alberta Innovates. He led the operation, strategy, and vision of the health division, which included significant investments brought to Alberta by Pfizer, Merck, and other companies. He holds a Bachelor of Physiology degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

Baltimore, Brittany
Ms. Brittany Baltimore is the Stakeholder and Government Engagement Manager with Alberta Blue Cross. Prior, she was the Vice President, Engagement with Wellington Advocacy and Executive Director of Alberta Government Caucus. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and French Language and Literature from the University of Alberta.

Kennedy, Martin
Mr. Martin Kennedy has served for nearly two decades in the senior management of EPCOR and Capital Power. He is currently the Director of Sustainability and External Relations with EPCOR Utilities. Prior to that, he served as the Deputy Chief/Managing Director for the Public Affairs Bureau with the Government of Alberta. He has served as chair for the Edmonton Downtown Business Association, the Edmonton Heritage Council, and the Edmonton Historical Board. He was a member of the Alberta Premier’s Council on Culture and the Alberta Results Based Budgeting Challenge Panels. He holds a Master of Business Administration Degree with Distinction from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta. He is also a fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

Ambutong, Gabriel
Mr. Gabriel Ambutong is the President of the Students’ Association of MacEwan University for the 2023/24 academic year. He is a Bachelor of Arts student at MacEwan University and is a member of the Students’ Council at the Students’ Association of MacEwan University since 2021.
La Torre, Joseph
Mr. Joseph A. La Torre is the Vice President of Governance and Finance with the Students’ Association of MacEwan University for the 2024/25 academic year. He is currently in his fifth year in the Bachelor of Arts degree program, majoring in philosophy and minoring in psychology. July, 2024.
Alam, Rafat
Dr. Rafat Alam is currently an Associate Professor with the department of Anthropology, Economics and Political Science with Grant MacEwan University. He is the Discipline Coordinator with the Economics Program at Grant MacEwan University, and he runs and supervises the Economics work placement program and is involved in university committees and faculty governance. He served as a member of the Faculty Association Negotiating Committee and as a member of the Academic Governance Council. He was also involved in program development, faculty governance, and rank and titling guideline creation at the department level.
Dr. Alam is the recipient of the Alberta Association of Colleges and Technical Institutes Research Grant award (2010), the MacEwan University Internal Research Grant award (2011), and the Commonwealth Fellowship award (1999 to 2005). Dr. Alam holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh. He completed his MA at the University of British Columbia and Ph.D. at the University of Ottawa. July, 2024
Barker, Tim
Mr. Tim Barker is a Financial Aid Advisor with the office of the Registrar at Grant MacEwan University. Prior to this position, Mr. Barker was an Information and Registration Assistant and Student Systems Scheduler at Grant MacEwan University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with an English major and Classics minor from Grant MacEwan University. He is also a Certified Scrum Master. July, 2024.
