Mohammed, Yusuf

Mr. Yusuf Mohammed is Human Resources Generalist with EIWM Holdings/Tim Hortons in Medicine Hat. He is a Director with The Connection Intercultural Association, Chair of the City of Medicine Hat Social Development Board and Chair of the Local Immigration Partnership Executive Board. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Communication from Royal Road University and a diploma from the ECWA Information & Computer Science Institute in Nigeria.

Okeke-Ihejirika, Philomina

Dr. Philomena Okeke-Ihejirika is a full professor in the Women's and Gender Studies Department at the University of Alberta. She is actively involved in community building as a resource person to many community organizations, service providers, and public agencies, and has served on the senate of King's University College. She is a former member of the Women's Advocacy Voice of Edmonton. She has earned many academic, professional, and community awards locally and in international circles. She earned her Ph.D. in Education from Dalhousie University. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Economics, a Master of Education degree in Educational Management, and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria.

Stahl, Brittany

Brittany Stahl is a Water Resources Engineer who works with Stantec Consulting Ltd. to support growth and development in the context of developer and regulator's goals. Brittany has experience volunteering with the Bow River Basin Council and Mount Pleasant Community Association committees and board. Brittany is a member in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta since 2008. Brittany holds a M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering Management from Heriot-Watt University.

Uzoka, Faith-Michael

Faith-Michael Uzoka (BSc, MS, MBA, PhD) is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computing at Mount Royal University. He has 30 years university teaching and research experience in four countries. Michael is an accomplished scholar with over 100 academic publications that have made international impacts in various aspects of human endeavour, especially in medical decision support systems. He has worked with research collaborators to develop award winning innovations; e.g., automatic pill dispenser, smart medical assistant, and a system for the early differential diagnosis of tropical confusable diseases. He served as a Canadian Commonwealth Scholar, Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow, and Research Development Officer (MRU). He is passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and places high premium on the value of EDI in governance and community relations. He Chairs the EDI Committee of the Faculty of Science and Technology, and sits on the President’s Advisory Committee on EDI at MRU.

Executive director and co-founder of the Calgary African Community Collective, Farah is also an Africa advisory board member with the Calgary Police Service and a champion for Alberta’s Black community. He is a former president of the Somali Canadian Society of Calgary and holds an associate degree in information technology, as well as credentials in public administration.
