Hook, Trevor

Dr. Hook began his career in veterinary medicine at Central Veterinary Clinic in Ponoka, AB and continues to enjoy the diversity and opportunities that have come from his career path in mixed animal practice. He took his undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta and graduated with honours in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011. Trevor received the ABVMA Young Veterinarian of the Year award in 2015 and selected for the CVMA Emerging Leaders Program in 2018. He joined the partnership with 2 other veterinarians in 2015 and they operate 2 veterinary practices in Central Alberta.

Dr. Hook has special interest and extensive experience and training in equine performance horse lameness and medicine, orthopedic surgery and equine dentistry. Dr. Hook has served on a diverse range of committees/boards including the Ponoka Fire Department, the Ponoka Ag Society, Ponoka Rec Hockey Association and as an advisor for the Alberta Equestrian Federation in regards to biosecurity and emergency preparedness.

Cox, Kimberley

Kimberly (Kim) Cox holds an Equestrian Canada coach license, is certified as a competition coach specialist through the National Coaching Certification Program and the Canadian Association of Coaches (CAC). Kim maintains official’s credentials as a Basic Dressage judge with Equestrian Canada, and Western Dressage Judge through the Western Style Dressage Association of Canada (WSDAC).

Kim’s experience as a trained coach and physical education teacher with the Calgary Board of Education and Foothills School Division, is a testament to her long record of coaching students and supporting them through the competitive experience.

Training horses to carry their riders well and coaching students to ride well, is the essence of her program.

Kim has trained her own horses and competed in the US and locally. In March of 2023, she trained with Jose Antonio Olea Rodriguez( Spain), 2022 World Champion in Working Equitation. Jose Antonio continues to act as a resource.

Kim has previously ridden with Doreen Horsey, Cindy Ishoy, Diane Creech and continues her professional development.

Kim volunteers as a Director at Large for the Alberta Dressage Association, and was recognized as a former volunteer of the year.

She has served two terms on the National Dressage Committee for Equestrian Canada.

Kim is a Riding Levels Examiner for the Alberta Equestrian Federation.

Kocuiba, John

John Kociuba is a Senior Software Business Consultant and General Manager for the last 20 years, has extensive leadership experience and continues to serve on multiple boards including president of a local sports organization. He has a life long passion for the horse racing industry and has enjoyed memorable visits to the racetrack with this family. John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Alberta, lives in St. Albert with his wife and three children.

Wedman, Jeff

Jeff Wedman is currently a member of the Major Investigations Team at the Alberta Energy Regulator. Before this, Jeff was a Detective with the Edmonton Police Service.


Mr. Wedman is a proud veteran, having served as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Jeff’s military career included two peacekeeping tours in Bosnia, one advisor tour in Kabul, and one combat tour in Kandahar.


Jeff holds a BA in History and International Politics from Royal Roads Military College.
