Ms. Sallows was a principal in Ryegate Capital Corporation which engaged in merchant banking as well as the provision of financial and strategic advisory services to institutional and corporate clients. . Ms. Sallows received a B.A. from Carleton University, a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, a Ph.D. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and also holds the ICD.D designation.
Phyllis Clark served as the Vice-President (Finance and Administration) and Chief Financial Officer at the University of Alberta, from 2002 to 2016. Previously, she spent five years as Vice-President (Finance and Administration) at York University, and prior to that, she was Assistant Deputy Minister of Ontario’s Management Board Secretariat. Between 1991 and 1992, Ms. Clark was the Province of Ontario’s Chief Economist and Assistant Deputy Minister of Finance.
Ms. Clark graduated from the University of Toronto in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics. She went on to complete her Doctorial Candidacy and Master of Arts in Economics at the University of Michigan in 1973.
Mr. Roger Renaud is a highly accomplished C-level executive with extensive Canadian and international Board experience and over 10 years as President of successful management firms. Mr. Renaud possesses a track records for driving value creation and transformational change. He has a deep knowledge of financial services, investment products and their distribution. He is a recognized leader with strong communication skills and an ability to build effective teams. Mr. Renaud constantly demonstrated a high level of adaptability and collaboration with clients and key stakeholders.
Mr. Renaud's competencies include: corporate governance; corporate strategy and planning; international experience; corporate transformation; risk management; financial services; investment products; pension plans; and innovation and marketing. Mr. Renaud was directly recruited and appointed based on the skills and competencies as described above.
Dr. Kenneth (Ken) Kroner was most recently Senior Managing Director at BlackRock, where he was the global head of the Multi-Asset Strategies Group and the global head of Scientific Active Equities. These teams were responsible for managing several hundred billions of dollars of publicly-traded assets. He also served as a member of BlackRock's Global Executive Committee and Global Operating Committee.
Dr. Kroner's service with the firm began 1994, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. At BGI, he was responsible for several investment teams, including asset allocation, global macro, currency, active commodity, fund of hedge funds and client solutions. At the time he joined BGI in 1994, Dr. Kroner was an associate professor of economics and finance at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Kroner serves or has served on various academic boards, foundation boards and academic journal editorial boards. His research on forecasting volatility and asset returns has been widely published in both academic and practitioner journals. Dr. Kroner earned a BA Honours degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Alberta in 1983 and a PhD in Economics from the University of California at San Diego in 1988.

Tom Woods spent his entire career with CIBC and Wood Gundy, the predecessor firm of CIBC World Markets. He started in Investment Banking, advising companies raising financing in the equity and debt capital markets as well as mergers and acquisitions, and later was Head of Canadian Corporate Banking, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and retired in 2014 as Vice Chairman.
Mr. Woods also serves on the boards of Bank of America Corporation; the CIBC Children's Foundation; the Board of Advisors of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Toronto; Jarislowski Fraser Limited and St. Joseph's Health Centre.
Mr. Woods has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering from University of Toronto, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
