Schulz, Jason

Jason Schulz is the director of strategic advisory services with Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation. Previously, he taught business at Keyano College and was a contracts manager. Jason is a member of the Wood Buffalo Housing and Development Corporation and a former member of the Wo?od Buffalo Real Estate and Zoning Development Appeals Board, the Board of Directors for Persons with Developmental Disabilities, Child and Family Services and the Athabasca Oil Sands Area Transportation Coordinating Committee.

Bateman, Jacquie

Jacqueline (Jacquie) Bateman is an entrepreneur who owns and co-owns multiple retail, hospitality and service industry businesses across northwest Alberta. Jacqueline serves her region as a volunteer in Rainbow Lake, High Level, and Zama City; she currently holds executive positions with rural, business, and recreational organizations in High Level. A municipal councillor for Mackenzie County, representing Ward 9, Jacqueline is skilled in negotiating, collaboration, conflict resolution and creating partnerships with stakeholders. Competencies required for members of the Northern Alberta Development Council include community/social responsibility and networking and relationship building. Jacqueline (Jacquie) Bateman was directly recruited and appointed on the basis of acceptably meeting the competencies, skills and attributes as described above.

Shannon, Shelly

Shelly Shannon has worked and volunteered in the Peace River business community for more than 20 years. She has served as director of the Peace River Chamber of Commerce for 15 years and 3 years as President. Shelly brings broad experience developing and maintaining strong relationships between business, organizations, and community partners. In delivering the NADC's mandate, Shelly brings her experience in creating business strategies, marketing plans, customer attraction and retention strategies. She is a passionate community advocate. Competencies required for members of the Northern Alberta Development Council include community/social responsibility and networking and relationship building. Shelly Shannon was directly recruited and appointed on the basis of acceptably meeting the competencies, skills and attributes as described above.

Beairsto, Cody

As a lifelong resident of northern Alberta, Cody Beairsto understands the North’s important role. He is a partner in a family-run business founded 54 years ago and is a member of the Community Futures Grande Prairie and Region Board. He previously served as a member and president of the Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce. Cody brings his passion for social and economic development.

Moghrabi, Omer

Omer Moghrabi was formerly Mayor of Lac La Biche County, serving two terms from 2014 to 2021. Omer has owned a sporting goods business since 1975 and previously worked in the field of post-secondary administration for over 30 years. Competencies required for members of the Northern Alberta Development Council include community/social responsibility and networking and relationship building. Omer Moghrabi was directly recruited and appointed on the basis of acceptably meeting the competencies, skills and attributes as described above.
