Adu, Kwaku

Kwaku Adu is a lawyer who works with Brownlee LLP to litigate / resolve disputes in the areas of insurance, personal injury, commercial and professional negligence claims.

Kwaku Adu previously served as a board member at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law Faculty Board. He is passionate about assisting at-risk children / youth in care.

Buick, Glen

Glen Buick, formerly Canadian Ambassador to Chile, and then ADM in Alberta Culture, is a member of the Alberta Law Enforcement Review Board and the Edmonton Assessment Review Board. He is a former ‘Lay Bencher’ (Board member) of the Law Society of Alberta and remains a public adjudicator for the LSA. Glen has served on the boards of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Award Foundation, CKUA, and the Edmonton International Jazz Festival, and (as Ministerial representative) on the boards of Access Alberta and the Calgary Centre for Performing Arts. He has a B.A. from Queen’s University, attended the National Defence College, and follows the regular Administrative Law courses provided by the Law Society. He received the Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005 and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.

Dighe-Bramwell, Sarita

Sarita Dighe-Bramwell holds a Bachelor of Science Specialization in Psychology Degree from the University of Alberta. She has nearly 20 years experience working for the Ministry of Children’s Services as an Investigator/Assessor and Case Manager, as well as various management roles including policy and practice development, program coordination, and supporting systemic level improvements. Sarita is currently a consultant providing services to build organizational capacity.

Kelly, Kevin

Kevin Kelly is a lawyer who works with people and businesses to resolve disputes. Kevin has board experience as Chair and adjudicator with several tribunals. He is a Chartered Arbitrator with extensive dispute resolution training. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Cardiff Law School.

Paniak, Vince

Vince has recent HPA College experience as an Investigator/Mediator with the Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons for 2 years in 2019-2020.

Vince was a former Public Member under the HPA from 2003-06 for five Colleges.

Vince was a Registrar and Director with three Alberta Administrative Tribunals.

Vince previously completed the Mediation Certificate Program.

Vince was awarded a Community Volunteer of the Year, a Board member of a non-profit lntercultural Daycare, and currently coaches Special Olympic sports programs.

Rocchio, Barbara

I am an Albertan, born in Grande Prairie and spent most of my adult life in Edmonton. I obtained my nursing education at the University of Alberta receiving a masters degree in 1988. In 2005, I received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta and in 2006, an Alumni Honour Award from the University of Alberta. During my nursing career, I have had the opportunity to care for patients as a bedside nurse, nurse educator and nurse manager. I have taught nursing education courses for both student nurses and registered nurses at the University of Alberta and Athabasca University. In 1990, I set up a small health care consulting business and have completed a variety of contracts including project management, health promotion and program evaluations. From 1995 until 2001, I was in a senior management position in a health region in Alberta responsible for all health services. I have served on non-profit community boards including Candora, A Centre for Women and have sat on the Children and Family Services Appeal Panel and the Public Health Appeal Board.

Hull, Patricia

Patricia Hull is an accomplished healthcare manager, quality specialist and educator with more than 20+ years’ diverse experience in public, non-profit and private sector health organizations and higher education institutions. She holds an Ed.D. degree in Higher Education (Administration) and Master’s degrees In Teaching and in Human Nutrition. Her professional designations include CHE, CPHR, PMP and RPR. Bennett, Matthew

Matthew is a lawyer at Dentons Canada LLP. Matthew regularly advising both public and private companies in a variety of areas of law including mergers/acquisitions, general corporate governance, stock exchange listings and other matters. In addition to his practice, he has acted as a director for not-for-profit groups, and has acted as corporate secretary for both private and public companies. Durnie, Darwin

Darwin Durnie has provided leadership in the public and private sector for 40 years. He is a senior strategist in emergency management and is considered a thought leader in water management, critical infrastructure and asset management. He was recognized in 2015 with the President’s Award from the American Public Works Association for their top award.

Darwin is also a community leader and was recognized in 2012 with a Diamond Jubilee award for his contributions. He is a Registered Engineer Technologist from SAIT.

Engen, Terry

Mr. Engen is a fifth-generation landowner in Lacombe County and was the Reeve of the County from 2004-2010. As an elected municipal official for 9 years, he has directed and chaired numerous commissions, review boards, and public hearings. In October 2010, Mr. Engen was appointed as a Board Member of the ERCB and reappointed as a part time Hearing Commissioner of the AER in 2013. He has also worked with several community organizations in senior level positions. Mr. Engen has a diverse background in leadership roles with Lacombe County, the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts & Counties, Hockey Alberta, Hockey Canada, Real Estate Council of Alberta, and his local community. He is recognized for his leadership skills and his ability to build collaborative relationships with government agencies and the community.

Shelly Flint is a business executive who works with organizations to consider opportunities for improving their financial and business performance. Shelly led the board committee of Cowboys Casino and has also worked with various board committees as a member of management. Shelly is an accountant holding a CMA-CPA designation, a Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and a diploma in computer systems from Red Deer College. Shelly has more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in Risk, Finance, Technology and Operations.

Gingrich, Sarah

Sarah Gingrich is a lawyer with a practice in capital markets, M&A and corporate governance. She holds a BA from the University of Western Ontario, a MA from Wilfrid Laurier, a LLB from Dalhousie and an ICD.D. Ms. Gingrich is a partner at Fasken LLP where she Co-Lead’s the Firm’s Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions Group. She is a volunteer with Empower Business Skills Training and a mentor through the Canadian Bar Association and the Schulich School of Law. Guard, Lyle

Lyle Guard is a commercial lawyer who has worked primarily in the construction and energy sectors for over 20 years. Lyle has both corporate and not for profit board experience and has served as in-house counsel for over ten years. Lyle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Trinity Western University and a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University.

James, Andrea

Andrea James is a Calgary based lawyer and entrepreneur. As the founder of Jamesco LLP, Andrea provides corporate law and tax law advice to clients carrying on business in Canada and the United States. Andrea has a masters degree in tax law from Osgoode Hall Law School, and has law degrees from the University of Calgary and the University of Houston. When she isn't at work or volunteering in her community, Andrea enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her family.

Wilson, Don

With over 35 years of experience in the transportation safety industry, Don brings considerable regulatory experience, many valuable contacts and strategic management experience to the Public Member, board position.

Notable is his past involvement as Executive Director with the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) and as a committee member at Mount Royal University for their Strategic Management continuing education program.

He has also been a volunteer with the Calgary Stampede Promotions Committee for 18 years.

Jossa, Dianna

Ms. Jossa holds a Master of Social Policy and Administration from Carleton University as well as a Certificate in Tribunal Administrative Justice. She has enjoyed a career in public service and has extensive experience in the management of health and social service programs, and has been a Registered Social Worker in Alberta since 2000. Ms. Jossa has served on a number of Boards and Commissions including the Appeals Commission for Alberta Workers' Compensation, the Alberta Hospice and Palliative Care Association and the Calgary Distress Centre.

Freeman, Catherine

Catherine (Kate) Freeman is an Edmontonian who is a community volunteer at the University of Alberta and her church, as well as a wife, mother, avid traveler and learner. Kate has volunteer board experience with the Senate of the University of Alberta, Pearson College, St. John's Anglican Church, Edmonton Public Library, and The Friends of Rutherford House.

Kate completed her Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D) in 2015.

Kate holds an MBA and a BA(Hons) from Queen's University.

Otway, Andrew

Andrew Otway operates a consulting business supporting the not-for-profit sector through governance and policy development and best practices. His focus is the health charity sector.

Ukpabi, Ugochukwu

Ugochukwu Ukpabi, KC, is principal at YYC Lawyers in Calgary. Previously, he was partner at Lacourciere LLP. He worked in the commercial litigation group of a Tier 1 national law firm, Gowlings WLG and was compliance counsel of a major Alberta utility, ENMAX. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee. He has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nigeria, a doctorate in international trade law from Osgoode Hall Law School and was a Grotius fellow at the University of Michigan Law School.

Ezike-Dennis, Emeka

Chukwuemeka Ezike-Dennis is a lawyer with over 20 years of experience in legal practice and business management. He volunteers with Mothers and Mentors Canada, a not-for-profit dedicated to youth empowerment in Alberta. He is proficient in implementing governance processes and regulatory compliance. Emeka holds a Chattered Director designation from Degroot School of Business, Mcmaster University. He also holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Law from University of Benin, Nigeria, and University of South Africa respectively.
