Esmail, Nadeem
Nadeem Esmail is a Senior Fellow in Health Policy Studies at the Fraser Institute and owns Swift Canadian Countertops. Nadeem has authored numerous comprehensive studies and articles on a wide range of topics including the cost of public health care insurance, international comparisons of health care systems, hospital performance, medical technology, and physician shortages. Nadeem has a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor’s degree, with honours, in Economics from the University of Calgary. Nadeem Esmail was directly recruited and appointed to the Law Enforcement Review Board on the basis of acceptably meeting the competencies, skills and attributes required by the Board.
Ahanonu, C. Nduka
Nduka Ahanonu is a trial lawyer with over 20 years of experience in the legal field. He is the Founder and Managing Lawyer at Duke Law Office. Prior to this, he worked as the Student-at-Law for Legal Aid Alberta and as a Legal Resource Officer for the Alberta Law Line. Nduka is an active member in the community and is currently serving as a Member on the Legal Aid Appeals Committee. He has a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Lagos, his Barrister-at-Law at Nigerian Law School and a Master of Laws at the University of Alberta.
Perry, Megan
Lali, Kanwal
Ms. Kanwal Lali has more than 17 years’ experience as a professional accountant. She has been the director of taxation at the City of Edmonton since 2012. Prior to that, she worked as senior manager in the Tax and Revenue Administration branch of Alberta Finance. She is actively engaged in her community. She has acted as a victim’s advocate for the Edmonton Police Service, volunteered on different community boards. Ms. Lali holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of London and a Management Development Certificate from the University of Alberta. She has also received Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Management Accountant designations
Porter, Joel
Joel Porter is a practitioner and dispatcher with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and previously completed a career in law enforcement. Both of these careers exposed Joel to the issues surrounding mental health issues and treatment programs available in Alberta. In addition, Joel has also been appointed to the Alberta Transportation Safety Board and the Mental Health Review Panel Roster.
Hahn, Brian
Brian R. Hahn is the Chief Executive Officer of BILD Calgary Region, a not-for-profit association involved in supporting all aspects of land development and the home-building industries. Prior to leading BILD Calgary Region, Brian progressively advanced in ATCO Gas, ATCO Pipelines, and Canadian Western Natural Gas. He has sat on many boards and committees, including STARS and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. Brian has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Portland, and has completed several management programs. Brian R. Hahn was directly recruited and appointed to the Law Enforcement Review Board on the basis of acceptably meeting the competencies, skills and attributes required by the Board.
Miller, Brendan
Brendan Miller is a litigation and appellate lawyer with over a decade of experience at all levels of Court in Canada, and he has acted as counsel before various administrative tribunals, commissions, and boards. He is currently Special Counsel with Foster LLP. Brendan also is the course designer and instructor in Canadian Constitutional Law in the joint B.A./LL.B. program between Wilfrid Laurier University and University of Sussex Law School, England. He holds a Masters of Constitutional Law from Osgoode Hall Law School. Brendan Miller was directly recruited and appointed to the Law Enforcement Review Board on the basis of acceptably meeting the competencies, skills and attributes required by the Board.
Buick, Glen
Glen Buick is a lay bencher with the Law Society of Alberta and a public adjudicator under the Health Professions Act. Formerly Alberta Culture’s assistant deputy minister and first executive director of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, he served on the Edmonton Assessment Review Board (2018–23) and multiple arts boards. A former federal foreign service officer and Canadian ambassador to Chile, he holds a BA from Queen’s and has received the Alberta Centennial and Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals.
Bourassa, Paul
Paul M. Bourassa is a lawyer with extensive experience in public service, adjudication, and institutional governance. He served as a Federal Crown Prosecutor and Justice Counsel with the Government of Canada, and as a consultant to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. He founded Bourassa Law, focusing on anti-money laundering, asset recovery, and justice system reform. Mr. Bourassa serves on Alberta adjudicative and advisory boards and is a Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal recipient for his commitment to Francophone minority language rights.
Henderson, Hamish
Hamish Henderson has been involved in a General Practice Law in Alberta for over 32 years. He has appeared regularly before all level of the Alberta Courts, as well as numerous Boards and Tribunals. Mr. Henderson is also a Mediator and Registered Collaborative Family Law Lawyer, as well as a part-time Correctional Services Adjudicator and Chair of the Insurance Councils Appeal Board.
Osler, William
William Osler, KC, is a partner at Bennett Jones LLP in Calgary, where he practices corporate commercial law. He is currently a director of the Calgary Stampede and a former President and Chair of the Board. He is also a director of MS Canada and the of the Kidney Foundation of Canada (Southern Alberta Branch). William has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Calgary. In 2025 he was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal. William Osler was directly recruited and appointed to the Law Enforcement Review Board on the basis of acceptably meeting the competencies, skills and attributes required by the Board.
Mann, Terri
Terri Mann is a former lawyer and practiced civil litigation, real estate, and dependent adult matters. She is currently serving the Provincial Land Compensation Board and Surface Rights Board (LPRT) since 2016. She previously worked with the Edmonton Assessment Review Board and WCB Appeals Commission. Ms. Mann has also instructed Business Law at local universities/colleges. She has a Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Canadian Securities Diploma.
