Snowdon, Anne

Anne Snowdon’s experience is at the nexus of research, public policy development, health system innovation and commercialization. She has published more than 100 research articles, papers and cases, has received over $15 million in research funding, and holds patents. Anne is Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship and the Chair of the World Health Innovation Network at the University of Windsor, Odette School of Business. She holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Michigan.

Jackson, Alison

Alison Jackson is a Tax Partner and the Managing Partner at EY (Ernst & Young) LLP in Calgary. She is a Chartered Accountant/Certified Professional Accountant and holds a Master of Accounting from the University of Waterloo. Competencies required for members of the Alberta Innovates board include governance and business/management experience and industry/sector-specific knowledge. Alison Jackson was directly recruited and appointed on the basis of acceptable meeting the competencies, skills, and attributes as described above.

Reschke, Chelsey

Chelsey Reschke is President, CEO, and Director of Voran group Ventures Ltd., a partner in manufacturing and marketing of nanotechnology-based surface coatings for the health and hygiene industry. Competencies required for members of the Alberta Innovates board include governance and business/management experience and industry/sector-specific knowledge. Chelsey Reschke was directly recruited and appointed on the basis of acceptably meeting the competencies, skills, and attributes as described above.

Thompson, Tom

Tom Thompson is President Emeritus of Olds College. He is a published author who has presented his governance as stewardship model in more than 25 countries. Since departing the college presidency in 2017, Tom has continued to serve community, provincial and national boards and committees in a variety of governance, advisory and consulting roles. Tom holds a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration and has completed educational and leadership programs at Harvard, Oxford, and the West Point Academy.

McHugh, Ruth

Ruth McHugh: MBA, FCPA, ICD.D, iGP. Now in private practice, Ms. McHugh has led Alberta's Legislative Assembly Office; Chief Operating Officer, Office of the Auditor General of Alberta; credentials and experience to manage risk for boards and their committees. Currently on the Innovation Asset Collective Board, College of Patent Agents and Trademark Agents Board, CPA AB Board, CPA Canada Council of Chairs. MBA, Heriot-Watt University; FCPA; ICD-Rotman ICD.D; Council of Canadian Innovators iGP Innovation Governance Program.


Schatz, Rod

Rod Schatz is an accomplished technology senior executive, entrepreneur and published author with more than 20 years of experience in management consulting, information management and custom application development. Currently, Rod is the Vice President of Technology at McElhanney Ltd. Rod has worked in numerous industries, including environmental and transportation-related engineering, telecommunications, government, non-profit, insurance, healthcare, and utilities, and has a M.Sc. from the University of Alberta.

Williams, Tony

Tony Williams brings extensive entrepreneurial experience as co-founder of Zept Inc., a

global international student recruitment app that provides matching system between

students and university, college and polytechnic programs. He is former Vice President

of Marketing & Recruitment at Navitas and has a BA from the University of Alberta.

Competencies required for members of Alberta Innovates include entrepreneurial and

business/management skills. Tony was directly recruited and appointed on the basis of

acceptably meeting the competencies.
