Oberg, Lyle

Dr. Lyle Oberg is an experienced former frontline health care professional who possesses unique and extensive governance experience as a former MLA and Cabinet Minister. Dr. Oberg received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Alberta in 1983 and was a practicing doctor in rural Alberta for over 12 years performing surgeries, emergency medicine, obstetrics and running a busy family medicine practice in the Brooks area. He is also the former CEO of Mynd Life Sciences. In addition to his experience as a frontline health care provider, Dr. Oberg brings with him a wealth of leadership knowledge as the former MLA for the previous riding of Bow Valley. He was elected in 1993 and served until 2008 overseeing many important files as a Minister, including: Finance, Learning, Social Services and Transportation and Infrastructure. Dr. Oberg also served as the Chair of the former Standing Policy Committee on Health Care Structuring in 1995.

Haggis, Paul

Paul G. Haggis brings a wealth of knowledge as a seasoned executive noted for his extensive experience in investment and change management. Mr. Haggis began his financial career in the banking sector, then joined Metropolitan Life as treasurer, was CEO of non insurance operations, and ultimately Chief Operating Officer in Canada. He was CEO of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) and was both a founding director and interim CEO of the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSPIB). Paul also served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Alberta Treasury Branches (ATB Financial) and is the former Chair of Alberta Enterprise Corporation. Included in his many board assignments was his election as Chair of Canadian Pacific after the Pershing Square lead proxy battle in 2012, and his Audit and Risk Chairmanship at Home Capital Group, just sold to Smith Financial. Paul was a commissioned officer in the Canadian Armed Forces (Res Air), is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and the Directors College at McMaster University.

Tremblay, Andre

Andre has over 20 years of public sector experience that includes provincial and municipal governments as well as non-government organizations and academia. Since joining the Alberta Public Service, Andre has served in a variety of senior leadership roles, most recently as Deputy Minister of Education, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, and as Deputy Minister of Transportation. In addition, Andre served as Associate Deputy Minister of Health, Assistant Deputy Minister of Social Policy at Executive Council and Assistant Deputy Minister of Apprenticeship and Student Aid at Advanced Education. Andre was also previously appointed as the Deputy Clerk of Executive Council and Deputy Secretary to Cabinet. Andre graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts. He has a professional Economic Developer designation from the University of Waterloo and has completed executive leadership programs at Queen’s University and the Ivey School of Business. 


Farmer, Cynthia

Cynthia Farmer is the Deputy Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services and the President of the Alberta Social Housing Corporation. Prior to her appointment as Deputy Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services in 2022, Cynthia served as the Deputy Minister of Service Alberta. Cynthia joined the Alberta Public Service in 1999. She is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education. In addition, she has completed leadership programs at Queen’s University and the Ivey School of Business.

Edmonstone, Sandy

Sandy Edmonstone is an independent businessman with over 25 years of investment banking and investment management expertise. Mr. Edmonstone currently serves as the President and CEO of a private investment firm. His corporate and investment banking career spanned the globe. He has held senior executive positions with international, national and boutique investment banks. In addition, Sandy has served as Chair of the Board of trustees for the Calgary Health Foundation, Chair of the Board of the Calgary Canucks Junior A Hockey Club, sits on the Dean's Advisory Board at the University of Calgary Cummings School of Medicine, sat on the board of the CFA Society Calgary and is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal. Mr. Edmonstone is a CFA charter holder, holds the ICD.D designation, a Master of Finance degree from Queens University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan. 

Romanow, Evan

Evan Romanow joined the Government of Alberta in 2011. He previously served as Assistant Deputy Minister in several ministries, including: Mental Health and Addiction, Health, and Seniors and Housing. Prior roles included advising on policy and directing strategy and operations in the ministries of: Executive Council; Innovation and Advanced Education; Human Services; and International and Intergovernmental Relations. Evan has undergraduate and master's degrees in Political Sciences from the University of Alberta. 

Fong, Angela

Angela Fong ICD.D, GCB (ESG), is a senior executive and independent corporate director. Ms. Fong is currently active on four external boards within the province of Alberta, is very involved within the business community and is a business mentor with the University of Alberta Mentoring Services (VMS). Her most recent executive role is as Chief Corporate Officer with Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo). Ms. Fong is retiring from AIMCo on December 31, 2023, to focus exclusively on her independent corporate director roles and select business advisory consulting services. Ms. Fong’s corporate experience is extensive and includes Corporate Strategy & Planning, Corporate & Board Governance, Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Relations, Enterprise Program Delivery, Business Technology and Enterprise Risk Management. She offers deep experience in organizational transformation and business integration.
